Are pre-nuptial agreements legally binding?

by Conrad Murray last modified 2007-04-05 06:31

My father wants us to enter into a pre-nuptial agreement but my fiancé says they are illegal in the UK. Who is right?

Pre nuptial agreements are not illegal and you are perfectly entitled to enter into one, but in this country the courts are not bound by the terms of a pre-nuptial agreement although they increasingly take them into account. Certainly it is worth seeking further advice in this regard.
