Mother in law is wrecking marriage
My mother in law is manipulative and vindictive and a complete pain in the backside. She is the only source of dispute in my marriage between myself and my husband, and not a week goes by without her behaving unacceptably in one way or another. We are now unable to socialise with her or go along to social functions with her as she drinks too much sherry and starts talking loudly and criticising people, usually strangers, causing a huge amount of embarrassment to myself and my husband. My husband sometimes makes excuses for her which frustrates me even more. Can having a nightmare mother in law be a ground for divorce?
Having a nightmare mother-in-law is not in itself a reason to divorce I am afraid. If however you find your husband is unsupportive of the situation and if you believe his behaviour is unreasonable in all the circumstances you may have grounds to commence proceedings. Please remember there are counsellimg and other similar services out there that maybe able to assist.
