Where can I look to see if my husband has divorced me?
Where can I look to see if my husband has divorced me? He now lives in Australia and I know through connections he has told his new partner that he has never been married so I wonder if he has divorced me without my consent. We have been separated over five years.
If your husband divorced you in England then you can make a search of the Central Record of Decree Absolutes - http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/infoabout/family/index.htm. If he commenced proceedings in Australia, you will need to find out if there is a similar Register there.
